The new Marines of Alpha Company, First Recruit Training Battalion, graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, May 2, 2025. Graduation took place at the completion of the 13-week transformation which included training for drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills, and Marine Corps customs and traditions. Following graduation, the Marines were given 10 days of leave before taking the next step in training at the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.

Reserve Marines have the chance to serve at the forward edge of global operations. At the Marine Forward Coordination Element in Bahrain, Marines support United States Marine Corps Forces Central Command by enabling crisis response, coordinating real-world missions, and working alongside joint and allied partners across the United States Central Command area of responsibility. This is more than weekend drill — it's operational-level experience with federal tax-free pay, hazardous duty incentives, and leadership opportunities that translate both in and out of uniform. Marine Air Ground Task Force Training Command (MAGTFTC) is where Marine Corps readiness begins. Spanning seven subordinate elements — including Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One in Yuma, Arizona; Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center in Bridgeport, California; Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Pacific and Atlantic; and multiple commands at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California. MAGTFTC serves as the foundation for developing the next generation of warfighters. These units collectively deliver a wide range of advanced training environments that shape Marines into confident, capable, and lethal leaders. At the core of this mission is the Service Level Training Exercise Program (SLTE-P), the Marine Corps’ premier large-scale multi-domain combined arms training effort. SLTE brings together forces from across the Fleet Marine Force to conduct full-spectrum operations in complex, realistic environments. Guided by experienced planners, instructors and evaluators, these exercises sharpen tactical decision-making, strengthen unit cohesion and prepare Marines to operate across every domain. We don’t just train Marines; we make them lethal. That commitment is reinforced through the integration of live, virtual and constructive (LVC) training. By combining real-world maneuver with simulated elements, MAGTFTC replicates the challenges of future battlefields, enabling Marines to think faster, act decisively and operate as one cohesive, combat-ready force. U.S. Marines with Marine Rotational Force-Southeast Asia, I Marine Expeditionary Force, conduct a a humanitarian aid and disaster relief mission and Exercises Sama Sama, KAMANDAG 8, Keris MAREX, Valiant Mark 24 and 25, Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training Malaysia and Brunei, and Cobra Gold throughout various countries in Southeast Asia. MRF-SEA traveled to the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Thailand and Singapore throughout the deployment. MRF-SEA is a rotational unit derived from elements of I MEF executing a U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific operational model that involves training events and exchanges with partner military subject matter experts, promotes security goals with allied and partner nations, and ensures a persistent I MEF stand-in presence west of the international date line.
