MARFORPAC Change of Command Ceremony
U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. William M. Jurney, outgoing commander, U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Pacific, relinquishes command to the incoming commander, Lt. Gen James F. Glynn, during the MARFORPAC change of command ceremony at Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Sept. 12, 2024. Assigned two-thirds of the Marine Corps’ operating forces, MARFORPAC operates in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility, the largest Geographical Combatant Command in the U.S. Department of Defense, as the Nation’s expeditionary force-in-readiness. Graduation took place at the completion of the 13-week transformation which included training for drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills, and Marine Corps customs and traditions. Following graduation, the Marines were given 10 days of leave before taking the next step in training at the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.
