Operation Render Safe 25.1 is an Australian-led, multinational mission to locate and dispose of unexploded World War II ordnance across the South Pacific, saving lives, supporting humanitarian efforts and strengthening interoperability among partner forces. MRF-D is an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and allies and partners and provide a forward postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific. The new Marines of Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 17, 2025. Graduation took place at the completion of the 13-week transformation which included training for drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills, and Marine Corps customs and traditions. Following graduation, the Marines were given 10 days of leave before taking the next step in training at the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.

Sara Medina, a combat photographer who served with Marine Corps Installations Pacific on Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan, June 17, 2025. Medina and Lance Cpl. Jacob Hug, a combat videographer, were both on board a UH-1Y Venom helicopter with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron (HMLA) 469 that crashed during Operation Sahayogi Haat after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal on May 12, 2015.
