U.S. Marine Corps video created to highlight activities that occur during the Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego Boot Camp Challenge at MCRD San Diego, California, Oct. 19, 2024. For the past 21 years the Boot Camp Challenge has offered the public a unique opportunity to step into the shoes of a future Marine. Guided by drill instructors, they tackled a three-mile obstacle course similar to what recruits would experience during training, observe performances, and receive information related to the Marine Corps. U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Venoms assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 367 and 369, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing; CH-53E Super Stallions assigned to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 466, Marine Aircraft Group 16, 3rd MAW; and U.S. Navy MH-60 Sea Hawks assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 3, Naval Air Station North Island, utilize a Bambi firefighting bucket during the annual Cory Iverson Wildland Firefighting exercise at Las Pulgas Lake, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., May 7, 2026. The Cory Iverson Wildland Firefighting exercise is an annual event focusing on interagency cooperation between the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, the Camp Pendleton Fire Department and the Department of War. During the exercise, each entity works together with local, state and federal partner agencies to create an effective, efficient and well-trained team that provides mutual aid to better protect installations within Marine Corps Installations West and the surrounding local communities. National Police Week 2026
Marines and civilian law enforcement officers pose for video portraits on Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia, May 14, 2026. Every May, our nation comes together for National Police Week to honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of law enforcement officers. This includes Peace Officers Memorial Day on May 15th and a week of observances recognizing officers who gave their lives in the line of duty, as well as those who continue to serve and protect our communities with dedication and courage. The Special Reaction Team are elite specialized units with a capability similar to that of civilian Special Weapons and Tactics units, responding to crisis situations at Marine Corps installations.

U.S. Marines with 12th Littoral Combat Team, 12th Marine Littoral Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, participate in Korean Marine Exchange Program 26.1 in the Republic of Korea from March 5 to April 12, 2026.
