MCRD San Diego Lima Company Graduation
The new Marines of Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 30, 2026. Graduation took place at the completion of the 13-week transformation which included training for drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills, and Marine Corps customs and traditions. Following graduation, the Marines were given 10 days of leave before taking the next step in training at the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.

Flashback Friday : MOH Recipient SSgt William James Bordelon
U.S. Marine Corps SSgt. William D. Bordelon was born on Feb. 25, 1920, and served as a combat engineer with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division. During the Battle of Tarawa in World War II, Bordelon was killed in action on Nov. 20, 1943, while leading his Marines towards enemy defenses under heavy fire.
