Lima Company Crucible
Recruits with Lima Company 3rd Recruit Training Battalion conduct the Crucible aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island S.C. Aug. 14, 2025. The Crucible is the culminating event of recruit training in which recruits must endure a 54-hour field training exercise that tests everything they have learned over the past three months overcoming obstacles and working together as a team in order to complete various missions. U.S. Marines and Sailors with Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 25.3 prepare to conduct Exercise Alon 25 in Palawan, Philippines, August 14, 2025. Exercise Alon is a bilateral amphibious training activity between the Australian Defence Force and the Armed Forces of the Philippines, supported by MRF-D and the Royal Canadian Navy. The exercise focuses on enhancing interoperability and readiness to respond to shared security challenges. MRF-D is an annual six-month rotational deployment to enhance interoperability with the Australian Defence Force and allies and partners and provide a forward postured crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific. 21 Area Training Tank Grand Opening Ceremony

The Darwin 9s is an annual event on the NT sporting calendar, with teams representing their indigenous and multicultural communities. Battle of Guadalcanal: 83rd anniversary of Operation Watchtower
Multinational service members, veterans, leaders of Solomon Islands’ government, members of the diplomatic community, and civilians, attend the 83rd Anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal Ceremony at the Guadalcanal American Memorial in Honiara, Solomon Islands, Aug. 7, 2025. The ceremony commemorated the 83rd anniversary of the battle, and served to honor the fallen and strengthen the U.S. relationship with the Solomon Islands and other Pacific allies and partners. MCRD San Diego Hotel Company Graduation - 8/08/25
The new Marines of Hotel Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Aug 8th, 2025. Graduation took place at the completion of the 13-week transformation which included training for drill, marksmanship, basic combat skills, and Marine Corps customs and traditions. Following graduation, the Marines were given 10 days of leave before taking the next step in training at the School of Infantry at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California.
