IA2 and EOD Marines Exploit UUV During Exercise Arctic Edge 2025
U.S. Marines with the Identity and Attribution Activities (IA2) and Multi-Domain Exploitation Team (MDET) performed forensic exploitation of a unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) at Marine Corps Base Quantico, VA, Aug 18, 2025 during Arctic Edge 2025 (AE25). Explosive Ordnance Disposal Marines systematically disassembled and documented the UUV components providing the circuitry and electronic components to the IA2 MDET for further exploitation to extract critical information. AE25 is a North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise designed to improve readiness, demonstrate capabilities, and enhance Joint and Allied Force interoperability in the Arctic. 7th FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS -- On March 26th, 2026, the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit completed its final preparations prior to entering the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility.
